SOLID GOLD
To be considered solid gold the gold must be at minimum 10K purity. Made entirely of gold through and through.
GOLD FILLED
Outer shell is gold pressure bonded to an inner core of high quality brass. Contains roughly 100x more gold than gold-plated jewelry. It does not flake or easily wear off, and with proper care, it can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years
Care and Maintenance
Though highly durable, gold-filled jewelry still requires basic upkeep to maximize its lifespan:
Cleaning: Gently wash the pieces with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth. Dry completely before storing.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Take your jewelry off before swimming in chlorine/saltwater, applying lotions, or using harsh household cleaners.
HEAVY GOLD PLATED
Plating can variable thickness the base can be an array of metals, like 24K gold overlay.
GOLD PLATED
Gold plating is a quick flash plating (ie. sprayed, dipped) over a base metal resulting in a thin gold layer.
